Job Description

• Every Other Week (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH) schedule
• Requires 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care
• Placement on unit with greatest need: PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry unit based on skills
• Accepts Med-Surg or Stepdown RN credentials (same credentialing for both)
• Must be able to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Current RN license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Required Health & Compliance Credentials

• Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; completed within a year, updated yearly)
• NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
• Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed)
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding
• Ascension Nova StatStrip training
• Ascension Epic Test-Out (training and test results required)
• MMR vaccination or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test (annual, preferred prior to start)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• Positive PPD or IGRA test with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing within required timeframes
• Varicella vaccination or immunity proof (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)

Professional & Background Requirements

• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• Two professional references prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings (within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
• EPLS (Exclusionary Provider List System) check within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills verification, completed within one year of start, updated annually)
• Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
• Confirmation of assignment documentation (provided upon initial assignment and updates)
• Employment verification for past seven years (updated annually)
• Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care experience

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

• Must be flexible to float within skill set or to nearby sites (within 40 miles)
• Must complete all required onboarding and credentialing prior to assignment start or as specified
