Job Description

• Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Requires 2 years of PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care experience (highest required experience)
• Placement on a unit with the greatest need: PCU, Med/Surg, or Telemetry unit based on skills
• Accepts Med/Surg or Stepdown RN credentials (same credentialing for both)
• Must be able to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Required Health & Compliance Credentials

• Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year, updated yearly)
• NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
• Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed)
• MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test (required annually; preferred prior to start)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
• Positive PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)

Required Professional Documentation & Verifications

• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• At least two professional references completed prior to first assignment
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required checks (updated annually)
• EPLS check within 90 days of start (rerun if break in service > 90 days)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills verification, updated annually)
• Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation (updated with each extension)
• Employment Verification for past seven years (updated annually)
• Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot with white or blue background)

• Must complete various Ascension-specific onboarding requirements and attestations prior to or at start
• Floating to other units or nearby sites may be required based on need
