Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour nights
• 36 hours per week
• Shifts: 0630-1830 and 1830-0630
• Every other weekend
• Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be within 50 miles
• Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Must pass an open-book orientation exam with a score of 90% or higher
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must be able to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips

Unit Details

• ICU with 33 beds
• Average daily census is 16
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3 for adults

Patient Population / Clinical Experience

• Trauma
• Cardiac
• Overdose/substance abuse
• Adult sepsis
• Post-stent
• Pacemaker placement
• Stroke
• Vascular cases
• Renal failure
• Heart failure
• Respiratory distress

Responsibilities

• May need to troubleshoot nasal cannula to vent
• May float to PCU and occasionally MedSurg
• May care for the same ratio of patients typically assigned on those units, 1:4 or 1:5
• May assist with 1:1s or floor support as needed based on census and volume

Additional Notes

• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Same-schedule duos and carpooling are not accepted
• If called back in while on call, arrival is required within 30 minutes
• RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
