Behavioral Psych RN - Night Shift

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive nursing care on a Geropsychiatric Unit.
• Assess, monitor, record, and report patient symptoms or changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories.
• Perform mental and physical assessments.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Assist patients with daily activities and observe their reactions.
• Manage therapeutic milieu activities including daily groups, education, and one-on-one sessions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members to develop and update individualized treatment plans.
• Plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities.
• Conduct therapies based on patient diagnoses and needs.
• Provide efficient discharge planning and obtain accurate patient histories at admission.
• Complete all required documentation timely, including admission paperwork, assessments, progress notes, interventions, evaluations, discharge paperwork, and CQI data.
• Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Hampshire.
• Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
• The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
