Rehabilitation Therapy Contract Position – Speech Therapist

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Generally a set schedule, 5 days per week, likely including 1 weekend day

Job Description

Provide rehabilitation therapy with a focus on Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies performed independently in acute care radiology without supervision.
Experience working in acute care, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or rehabilitation hospital settings preferred.
Potential referrals for outpatient care.
Documentation primarily via Meditech computerized system for inpatient and paper documentation for outpatient.
Training provided for EMR documentation and orientation to rehab area expectations.
Possible floating to other units or facilities depending on census and staffing needs.

Required Qualifications

Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Hawaii.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year.
Experience as a Rehabilitation Therapist.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday.
Dress code: Scrubs or per facility policy.
EMR system transition to Epic scheduled for November 1, 2025.

Note: Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
