Surgical Technologist - Contract Position

Location: Atlantic, Iowa
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 06:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotating on-call duties requiring a 30-minute response time
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

• Support safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care under RN supervision
• Assist the surgical team with limited direct patient care
• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures
• Maintain a strong understanding of surgical procedures and anticipate surgeon needs
• Set up, maintain, and protect a sterile field throughout procedures
• Clean, prepare, and package instruments for disinfection and sterilization
• Assist with room turnover between cases, including cleaning and preparing the environment
• Uphold patient safety standards and maintain clinical competencies according to scope and training
• Adhere to AORN Recommended Practices and departmental policies
• Manage time, resources, and supplies responsibly
• Collaborate effectively as a team member
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
