Job Description

Seeking an experienced RN for acute inpatient rehabilitation. The role involves providing specialized care to patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab services. The goal is to help patients achieve their highest level of recovery and return home as soon as possible.

• Patient Population: Adult inpatient rehab

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med-Surg or Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) nursing (Skilled nursing experience alone is not accepted)
• Must have EPIC experience
• Must have at least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience
• BLS certification required

Skills and Experience

• Experience in acute inpatient rehab or acute rehab hospital settings
• Familiarity with common diagnoses and treatments including:

  • Hypertension
  • Blood glucose monitoring and insulin protocols
  • Feeding tube care, swallowing precautions, thickened liquids
  • Foley catheter care
  • Care of ports and PICC lines
  • Starting IVs
  • Care for patients with CVA, Parkinson’s, post-craniotomy, spinal injury, brain injury, joint replacement
  • Supplemental oxygen delivery
  • Isolation precautions
  • Ulcer and wound care

Preferred Experience

• Trauma experience is a plus

• Dress code: Scrubs and sneakers acceptable; scrub color is flexible
