Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
• Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
• Weekend Hours: As required, typically every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: As needed to similar or lower acuity units
• Patient Care: Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups. Coordinates care with ancillary departments.
• Documentation: Utilizes nursing process and maintains patient confidentiality and rights.
• Orientation: Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full week orientation required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an inpatient setting within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
• Exposure to blood and body fluids
• May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs

• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
• Dress code: Black scrubs only; no other attire permitted
• Patient ratios and unit equipment vary
• EMR system used: EPIC
