Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVICU Pediatrics

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Specialty: CVICU Pediatrics (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for Pediatrics)

Job Summary

Provide nursing care under general supervision to a variety of pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administering medications and treatments, monitoring physiological data, assisting physicians, and coordinating care with patients' families and support staff.

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in the specialty

Education Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher (preferred)

Certifications & Licensure

Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

Key Responsibilities

Manage an assigned group of pediatric CVICU patients
Document patient responses and changes in physician orders
Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures
Monitor and intervene based on patients’ physiological data
Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
Communicate care plans with patients and families
Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate

Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Basic computer skills
Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues
