Cardiovascular Technician

Job Overview

• Location: New York, New York
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 days per week, 9am–9pm; no weekends
• Hours per week: 34.5

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient blood pressures and report changes from baseline.
• Interpret intracardiac pressures and record chamber pressures as requested.
• Maintain a complete procedure record using the cardiac cath lab computer.
• Calibrate and operate procedure equipment, including A-Vox, cardiac output, and ACT.
• Supply equipment during procedures, including catheters, wires, balloons, and stents.
• Analyze and process procedure data and print required information.
• Set up and calibrate the intra-aortic balloon pump and monitor it during the procedure.
• Assist in emergency situations, including resuscitation measures and use of a defibrillator, artificial resuscitation, external pacemaker, and suctioning.
• Replenish supplies and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Learn and apply new technology and procedures as introduced.
• Operate the power injector for large-volume dye contrast injections.
• Set up sterile procedure rooms and enter patient information.
• Assist nursing staff with patient transport.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cardiovascular Technologist license in New York
• Cardiovascular Technologist (1 year of experience)
• Cardiovascular Technologist experience within the last year
• High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• RCIS
• Excellent organizational skills
