Cardiovascular Technician
Job Overview
- Location: New York, New York
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3 days per week, 9am–9pm; no weekends
- Hours per week: 34.5
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient blood pressures and report changes from baseline.
- Interpret intracardiac pressures and record chamber pressures as requested.
- Maintain a complete procedure record using the cardiac cath lab computer.
- Calibrate and operate procedure equipment, including A-Vox, cardiac output, and ACT.
- Supply equipment during procedures, including catheters, wires, balloons, and stents.
- Analyze and process procedure data and print required information.
- Set up and calibrate the intra-aortic balloon pump and monitor it during the procedure.
- Assist in emergency situations, including resuscitation measures and use of a defibrillator, artificial resuscitation, external pacemaker, and suctioning.
- Replenish supplies and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Learn and apply new technology and procedures as introduced.
- Operate the power injector for large-volume dye contrast injections.
- Set up sterile procedure rooms and enter patient information.
- Assist nursing staff with patient transport.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cardiovascular Technologist license in New York
- Cardiovascular Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Cardiovascular Technologist experience within the last year
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- RCIS
- Excellent organizational skills
