Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy. The RN ensures compliance with nursing standards and promotes a patient-centered, caring, and healing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients as primary or accountable nurse.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely with knowledge of pharmacology.
• Manage resources effectively including staffing, time, and supplies.
• Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in nursing shared governance, unit councils, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
• Support learning for new employees and students.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including experience within the last year.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Proficient in telemetry skills, including completion of telemetry skills checklist.
• Experience with groin management.
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
