RN-Transplant Unit

Overview

• Specialty: Nursing:RN-Transplant Unit
• Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina

• Hours per week: 40
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Unit focus: Kidney primarily
• Role context: 1st Floor outpatient and/or transplant experience preferred; the 1st Floor candidate will float to 4th Floor when the 1st Floor is closed

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year of transplant experience within the last year
• Experience: Experience in an ambulatory care setting
• License: Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Outpatient and/or transplant experience
• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing

Duties

• Provides competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting
• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process
• Performs bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan
• Supports patient education, assessment, planning, discharge planning, and care coordination
• Participates in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and research-related practice review
