Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Midland, Texas
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Room or equivalent size setting

  • Certifications:

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must have or be willing to obtain
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – required as applicable
    • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – required as applicable
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – preferred for L&D, required as applicable
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – required as applicable
    • NIH Stroke Certification – required for all clinical positions
    • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – required, update annually
    • State License Verification – required within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) – required within 30 days of start
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required


Compliance & Background Checks

  • 10-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Check within 30 days prior to start
  • Texas Employee Misconduct Registry and Employability Status Check within 30 days prior to start
  • Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
  • N95 Fit Test within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
  • Vaccinations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
  • Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); mask may be required if declined

Documentation & Other Requirements

  • Two professional references within 3 years of start
  • Copy of resume/application required
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Facility-specific documents to be reviewed and signed prior to start, including confidentiality, drug screening consent, TB questionnaire, and compliance checklist
