Job Opportunity: Medical Social Worker (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District Of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Discharge Planner Case Manager
- Schedule: Friday to Monday, with holiday coverage as needed
- Floating: May be required to float to other units for departmental coverage
- Work environment: Business casual; no scrubs allowed
- Facility requires all employees to have the flu vaccine
Required Qualifications
- Licensure:
- Must hold a valid DC RN license (pending DC licensure with proof of application accepted) OR
- Licensed Social Worker eligible for LMSW, LGSW, or LCSW (must have passed the exam)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (Social Services / Medical Social Worker)
- Must have acute hospital discharge planning experience
- Skills:
- Experience with Emergency Department and Case Management
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- TB screening (IGRA or PPD within 1 year, updated annually) or chest x-ray if history of positive TB test
- Documentation of MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and other immunizations as required
- Annual N95 fit test (if applicable)
- Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
