Job Opportunity: Medical Social Worker (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Discharge Planner Case Manager
• Schedule: Friday to Monday, with holiday coverage as needed
• Floating: May be required to float to other units for departmental coverage
• Work environment: Business casual; no scrubs allowed
• Facility requires all employees to have the flu vaccine

Required Qualifications

• Licensure:

  • Must hold a valid DC RN license (pending DC licensure with proof of application accepted) OR
  • Licensed Social Worker eligible for LMSW, LGSW, or LCSW (must have passed the exam)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (Social Services / Medical Social Worker)
  • Must have acute hospital discharge planning experience
• Skills:

  • Experience with Emergency Department and Case Management

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine required for all employees
• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• TB screening (IGRA or PPD within 1 year, updated annually) or chest x-ray if history of positive TB test
• Documentation of MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and other immunizations as required
• Annual N95 fit test (if applicable)
• Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
