Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology

Location: El Paso, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule

  • 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
  • Start time between 6-8 AM depending on scheduled cases
  • Latest end time 5-6 PM on non-call days
  • On-call schedule: 1 week on, 1 week off (24/7 coverage during on-call week)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Prior experience in Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (HARD STOP)
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Radiology, or Neuro Intervention
  • Experience supporting STEMI cases, vascular emergencies, pacemaker insertions, Impella insertions, balloon pump insertions
  • Circulating experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
  • BSN degree required

Licensure & Verification

  • Primary source verification of state nursing license required
  • NURSYS verification required for RN licenses
  • Education verification:
    • Bachelor’s degree required for permanent staff
    • Associate degree acceptable for travel staff

Additional Required Certifications & Competencies

  • NIH Stroke Certification (must be current within 6 months of start)
  • Medication Test / Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Unit Competency Exam

Background Checks & Compliance

  • 7-year background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Must include SS trace, county, nationwide, national sex offender, FACIS level 3, education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Negative TB test (TSPOT or QGOLD within 3 months) or 2-step PPD
  • Required immunizations or positive titers (or declination if unable to vaccinate):
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start (unpaid)
  • Forward-facing head and shoulder photo for badge (no selfies)
  • Signed acknowledgements for property, confidentiality, security, tobacco-free workplace, and culture of safety training
  • Completion of onboarding paperwork and IT request forms
