Position Details
- Specialty: Pediatric Hematology/Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)/Oncology
- Facility: Pediatric unit providing intermediate level care for patients aged 0-18 (some oncology patients followed until age 25)
- Patient Diagnoses: Leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood diseases, immunological diseases, storage diseases, Bone Marrow Transplants, Graft vs Host Disease
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- Floating: Within hospital only (no floating to sister hospitals)
- Call: No
- Ratios: Not specified
- Start Date: ASAP (January start acceptable)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years, including BMT/Cellular Therapy experience
- First-timers: Accepted if 3+ years of experience
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License Accepted: Yes, if application submitted and received by licensing board
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Maximum 1 week
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA provider only)
- PALS (AHA provider only)
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card (by APHON or ONS)
- ACLS (AHA provider only) preferred/required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/AAP only (if applicable)

Requirements & Compliance
Background Checks & Verifications
- Background check within 6 months of start, including education and work history verification
- National Sex Offender Search within 30 days prior to start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification required (primary source)
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required
- Employment application with at least 7 years of work history required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (within 1 year) required to meet Aya standard
- Fit mask test required within 1 year prior to start (N95 or equivalent)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (2-step PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD acceptable)
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Immunity or vaccination required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (full series or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start (laboratory-based, SAMHSA certified lab)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required by 12/01/2025
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask wearing and signed declination form
- COVID-19 vaccine fully vaccinated status required by 10/18/2021 for patient-facing personnel (no exemptions allowed for patient-facing roles)

- Glucometer 2025 (not required for OR RNs)
- Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training
- Vocera Badge Training (for inpatient RN)
- Medication override test provided during orientation (not required before start)
- Professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Facility-specific policies and handbooks must be reviewed
Additional Notes
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day to obtain facility ID badge
- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date (vacations or planned absences must be communicated)
- Floating is limited to within the hospital only
- No block scheduling accommodations unless specified
- Return candidates with gaps over 60 days require updated references and background checks
- Respirator clearance and fit testing required; onsite fit testing available if agency cannot provide prior to start
