Travel Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)

Location: Ponca City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
• Floating: Yes, within scope and to sister facilities
• Block schedule accommodation: No
• Local radius rule: Must live more than 75 miles from facility
• Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: No more than 5 days allowed
• Charting system: Epic

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in MS/Telemetry specialty
• First-time travelers not accepted (prior travel experience required)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Oklahoma (no pending licenses accepted)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)
• EKG Course / Telemetry test

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Completion of EKG Course or Telemetry test
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
• Utility bill in traveler’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list
• Education verification with transcript/diploma matching highest degree
• Physical exam within 1 year stating good health and no physical limitations
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Required immunizations/vaccinations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (mandatory for certain units)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
  • Flu vaccine (required annually for all new starts)
  • COVID vaccination strongly preferred (declinations accepted with agency form)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start)
• Fit mask testing (N95) completed onsite on first day
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety training including HIPAA and OSHA acknowledgment
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests updated annually
• Skills checklist updated annually and aligned with competency exams
• References: Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
• Employment history verification for last 10 years

Additional Notes

• Candidates must attend Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills)
• EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months
• Fit testing for N95 masks completed onsite; PAPRs allowed
• ESI Certification required for ER RNs (not applicable for this MS/Telemetry role)
• Floating to sister facilities is required as needed

This position requires a highly qualified RN with prior travel experience, strong telemetry skills, and compliance with extensive credentialing and health requirements.
