Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide imaging support in the Operating Room during vascular interventional radiology procedures.
- Work schedule: 10-hour days, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Rotating on-call every 4th week.
- Must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia.
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, with experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology.
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume entry-level to mid-level technologist experience appropriate for vascular IR support.
Certifications & Compliance Requirements
- BLS and ARRT certifications mandatory.
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit or procedure specifics (e.g., ACLS, if applicable).

- Drug screening (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl) required within 2 months of start and updated annually.

- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or follow-up antigen titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or titer)
- Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions accepted)
- Physical exam within 12 months attesting ability to meet job demands.
- Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged.
- Fit testing for patient-facing roles will be completed onsite if required.
Additional Notes
- Fingerprinting may be required depending on unit assignment.
- Pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment and other competency exams may be required during orientation depending on unit.
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.
- References and clinical evaluations may be required for credentialing.
