ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Utica, New York
Position Details
- Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
- Location: Utica, New York
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:30 - 7:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2, occasionally 1:3
- Float: Must be able to float within skillset
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Harassment Prevention Training certificate
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Emergency Contact Form (required prior to start)
- Background Checks (updated annually):
- 7-year SS Trace and County searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
- HHS/OIG exclusion list check
- Education Verification
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start
- Fit Mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific N95 masks required)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start (PPD, Quantiferon Gold accepted; Tspot not accepted)
- Drug Screening: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
- Immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
- Pneumonia vaccination or declination
- Professional References:
- 2 references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
- Annual competencies and exams as applicable, including:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (expires every 3 years)
- Color Blind Testing (one-time)
- Facility-specific documents to review and sign prior to start, including job description and welcome packet
- Completion of required online learning modules before first shift
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Must be able to work night shifts and meet ICU staffing ratios.
