Job Opportunity: Home Health Nurse

Location: Sarasota, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 20 weeks

Job Description

Provide skilled home care nursing (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Commercial insurance patients).
Perform 6-8 home skilled visits per day.
Patient care includes cardiopulmonary assessment, wound care (basic, ABI compression dressing, wound vac dressing), Pleurx/Aseptdrain care, foley catheter care, staple/suture removal, glucometer use, pro-time machine use, SQ/IM injections, lab draw venipuncture, IV skills, PICC line or Midline care and dressing changes, SQ port access/deaccess.
Manage general medical diagnoses and high-risk diagnoses such as heart failure (HF), COPD, myocardial infarction (MI), pneumonia, and stroke.
Provide post-operative care.
Work hours vary based on HomeCare office needs, generally Monday-Friday with some weekend shifts; typical shift hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Visits and hours are self-scheduled based on office needs.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
Minimum 1 year of home health nursing experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Experience with OASIS documentation and processes.
Proficient IV therapy skills.
Experience working in a home health setting.
