Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation

Location: Topeka, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Schedule Details:

  • No weekends or on-call required
  • Occasionally assist with late joint cases on a rotation basis (last joint seen by 5:00 PM, out by 6:30 PM latest)

Job Description

Provide occupational therapy services within the Rehabilitation Services unit, focusing on inpatient rehab patients.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Kansas
  • NBCOT certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • 7-year background check with annual updates, including SS TraceCounty, Sex Offender, and Education Verification
  • Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Primary source verification of state license
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
  • Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, confidentiality agreements, TB questionnaire, and orientation checklists
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Immunization requirements:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (highly preferred)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines each
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination
    • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, including MRO signature
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (9/1–3/31)
