Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation

Location: Topeka, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Schedule Details:

No weekends or on-call required
Occasionally assist with late joint cases on a rotation basis (last joint seen by 5:00 PM, out by 6:30 PM latest)

Job Description

Provide occupational therapy services within the Rehabilitation Services unit, focusing on inpatient rehab patients.

Required Qualifications

Valid Occupational Therapist license in Kansas
NBCOT certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

7-year background check with annual updates, including SS TraceCounty, Sex Offender, and Education Verification
Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
Primary source verification of state license
Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, confidentiality agreements, TB questionnaire, and orientation checklists
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
Immunization requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (highly preferred)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines each
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, including MRO signature
Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (9/1–3/31)
