Position Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12 days)
• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• First-timers: Not accepted
• Required Experience:

  • Med/Surg Telemetry
  • Pacemakers
  • IV insulin protocols
  • Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Local Radius Rule: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• Locals Accepted: No
• Pending State License: Not accepted
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days allowed
• Charting System: Epic

Required Certifications & Licenses (Must be current prior to start)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• EKG Course / Telemetry Test
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
• Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address within last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal background check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM
  • HHS/OIG
  • Fingerprinting (if applicable)
  • Education verification (highest level of education)
  • OFAC Sanctions List Search
  • State-specific searches (if applicable)
• Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start)
• Physical Exam: Statement of good health within 1 year, signed by Physician, PA, or NP
• Immunizations & Health Documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap mandatory for certain units)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
  • Hepatitis A (for Pediatric/PICU positions)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required annually with exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine or Declination (agency-specific form accepted)

Competency & Skills Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (100% score required)
• Color Blind Testing (within 60 days prior to start)
• Unit-specific Competency Exams (passing score 80% or higher)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (90% or higher, updated annually)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) covering safety, patient rights, ethics, abuse, etc. (required annually)
• Behavioral Competency Exam (for behavioral health units)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills) mandatory for all RNs
• EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 12 months
• Fit Testing (N95 mask) completed onsite within 1 year of start
• Completion of various policy acknowledgments and agreements prior to start (e.g., Code of Ethical Business Conduct, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy)
• Vehicle Information form must be completed prior to start

References & Work History

• Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
• Updated resume covering last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• 10-year work history verification including international positions

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs who meet the certification and compliance requirements and are willing to travel and float within the facility system.
