Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Wilmington, North Carolina
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 3x12s, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Patient population includes medical-surgical oncology patients receiving chemotherapy

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Must be willing to obtain the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification prior to or during the assignment
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience with the following is required: Med/Surg, colostomy care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, heparin, insulin, surgical drains, chest tubes, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac

Preferred

• CPI
• Charge nurse experience
• OCN

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Every other weekend required
• Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift
• Floating required to similar units and alternate inpatient care locations
• Target ratio: 1:6
• Orientation: 24 hours

• First-time travelers accepted
• Locals accepted at a local rate
• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Navy blue and white scrubs required
