Cath Lab RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
• Day shift: 4x10s, 7:30a-6:00p, plus call
• Up to 26 weeks available by request
• Charting: Epic required
• Serves adult patients in a cath lab with 6 procedure rooms and a daily census of 15–20
• On-call expectation: 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts every 6-week period, including one full weekend of call and one Saturday shift for elective cases
• Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called
• One holiday per 13-week contract required
• Accepts pending state license
• Does not accept first-time travelers
• Does not accept locals

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Cardiac Cath Lab (1 year of experience)
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Scrub experience
• Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoro
• Experience with Epic

Unit Details

• Common diagnoses: coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
• Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
• Equipment includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS

• The hospital is an acute care teaching hospital with over 700 licensed beds, Level I Trauma Center status, Magnet designation, and certified stroke center recognition
• The facility is nationally recognized for cardiac cath lab excellence and has ACC accreditation for PCI procedures
