Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Location

Assignment Type

  • Travel/contract

Shift

  • Night shift, 3x12 hours
  • 19:00–07:30
  • 36 hours per week

Contract Length

  • 18 weeks

Role Overview

  • Emergency Department role
  • Travelers should expect assignments to include, and may consist primarily of, admitted patients
  • High admit-hold volume is expected

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • TNCC
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • Must work 2 of the 3 holiday bundles
  • No locals within 100 miles
  • Valid non-local driver’s license required
  • Two professional references within three years of hire
  • Complete application with at least 3 years of work history
  • Skills checklist required
  • Work history verification required
  • Employment application required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Travel experience strongly preferred
  • Level I trauma experience preferred

Scheduling and Assignment Details

  • Weekend scheduling as needed
  • Floating may include Peds ED, Adult PCUs, ED Holding, and Trauma as needed
  • On-call not required
  • Block scheduling not available
  • RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
  • Christmas RTO is not allowed

Compliance and Testing

  • TNCC must be completed before submission
  • RQI certifications are not accepted
  • Cerner training attestation may be completed if the clinician has Cerner experience
  • Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam is required for this role
  • Medication administration and IV medication competency are part of the role

Additional Notes

  • COVID vaccination is optional
  • Flu vaccination or approved documentation is required year-round
  • Fingerprinting is required onsite during orientation
  • Physical exam required within 1 year before start
  • Negative TB screening required within 1 year before start
  • Drug screen required within 30 days before start
  • Fit testing required within 1 year before start
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity/documentation are required
  • Parking is free
