Job Opportunity: RN Interventional Radiology

Location: Brookfield, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in Interventional Radiology with previous IR experience required.
  • Must be proficient with EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Ability to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within a 40-mile radius as needed.
  • Call schedule includes 1-2 calls during the week for two sites, rotating weekends (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 8:00 AM), and rotating holidays with current staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Prior travel nursing experience.
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references.
  • Current license verification through Nursys and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and EPLS within 90 days of start.
  • Completion of specialty competency exams including:
    • Specialty exam with minimum 80% passing score (updated every 3 years).
    • Core competencies exam covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other regulatory topics (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years).
    • EKG exam with at least 80% passing score (updated every 3 years).
    • Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
  • Health and immunization requirements:
    • MMR: documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted.
    • Varicella: documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
    • Tdap: valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
    • Hepatitis B: vaccination series completion or signed declination.
    • Influenza vaccine is optional but required to wear a mask if declined during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
    • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; positive results require chest X-ray and annual questionnaire.
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, Small, or 1870+), updated annually.
    • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually.
  • Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
  • Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file.

Additional Notes

  • Onboarding includes completion of education attestation, nursing contract worker onboarding, and pre-hire modules.
  • Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leadership within one week of start.
  • Employment and education verifications are required and must be updated annually or after breaks in service longer than 90 days.
  • Must comply with all required documentation and testing prior to and during assignment.

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology RNs with prior travel experience seeking a long-term assignment with a structured call and weekend rotation schedule.
