Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:15 - 06:45)
Unit: Adult Critical Care


Job Description

  • Provide respiratory therapy care in an adult critical care setting during night shifts.
  • Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) only.
  • Experience with Hamilton ventilators and EPIC charting documentation preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Onboarding and Credentialing Requirements

  • Submit a recent (within 6 months) professional color photo (no selfies, plain background).
  • Professional license and certification primary source verification required within 30 days of start date; conditional licenses not accepted.
  • Fit testing for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date; no exemptions allowed.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed.
  • Immunization documentation required:
    • MMR: Two doses each of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines or proof of immunity via blood test.
    • TB test: Negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred.
    • Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years.
  • Health statement signed by a licensed provider within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months.
  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start; includes county and international residence history for last 7 years.
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start.
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
  • Education verification of highest level achieved.
  • Social Security Number trace for last 7 years.
  • Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher.
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
  • Candidate submission coversheet required for initial assignment.
  • Confirmation of assignment/POI form required upon acceptance and for extensions.

Additional Notes

  • No onsite fit testing available; must be completed prior to start.
  • Positive TB test requires negative chest X-ray documentation.
  • Name change documentation required if legal name differs from credential documents.
  • Some vaccine and health requirements may vary slightly by location but must meet overall standards.
