Role Summary

• MICU RN assignment in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU.
• Floating is required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units.
• 36-hour schedule with day/evening/night coverage and every other weekend.
• Shift: 19:00 - 07:30.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience).
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Ability to read telemetry strips.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferably MICU experience.

Unit Details

• Unit name: Level III Trauma Center.
• ICU with Med Surg floating required.
• Patient population includes adult patients with substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
• RN-to-patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Med/Surg areas.
