Respiratory Therapist

Overview

• Travel assignment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
• 13-week contract.
• Start date: ASAP.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week.
• Primary location: Milwaukee Campus.
• Shift: 12-hour day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend, occasionally every 3rd.
• Holidays: may be scheduled if necessary.
• Call: not applicable.
• Contract may be terminated with 2 weeks’ notice if census dictates.

Required Qualifications

• AHA BLS.
• AHA PALS.
• NRP.
• Wisconsin license.
• NBRC RRT.
• Must be able to function on PICU and Level IV NICU.
• Minimum experience: 3-5 years in peds critical care or NICU.
• PICU experience required.
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions.

Preferred

• Epic Clin Doc familiarity.

Float Scope

• Primarily PICU and NICU.
• May float to general med/surg acute care units and EDTC.

Clinical Setting

• 24-bed peds cardiac ICU.
• 24-bed peds medical ICU.
• 24-bed peds surgical ICU.
• 70-bed Level IV NICU.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage respiratory care patients.
• Vent management.
• Intubations and extubations.
• Suctioning and treatments.
• Work with invasive and non-invasive ventilation, including CPAP, BiPaP, RAM cannula, NAVA ventilation, PEP, INO, and ventilators such as Servo I, Servo u, LTV’s, Astral, Trilogy, and oscillators.

Additional Notes

• Education: AD.
• Scrubs: any professional scrubs.
• Nose stud is permitted; no other visible body piercings except ear piercings. Flesh-colored or clear piercing plugs may be worn.
• Travelers are guaranteed set hours per week except during holidays when the unit is closed and orientation week.
