Overview

• Location: Lafayette, Colorado
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Varied, 4–9 hours; days/evenings/nights; variable weekends; open availability
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Medical Lab Scientist (1 year of experience)
• Medical Lab Scientist experience within the last year
• MT(ASCP) or CLS (ASCP)
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in a(n) Acute Care setting

Role Summary

• Performs and interprets designated laboratory procedures
• Performs serologic, chemical, bacteriologic, immunohematologic (blood bank), and microscopic procedures
• Performs accurate and appropriate testing on laboratory specimens/collections according to laboratory protocol and procedures
• Troubleshoots instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimen/product problems
• Performs laboratory quality control and maintenance/calibrations on instruments and equipment
• Conducts verification tests on new products, instruments, and procedures
• Assists with quality audit data collection, technical policy/procedure development, inspection assistance, and donor files
• Maintains workflow in the clinical laboratory, including work areas, supply stock, and inventory
• Assists in training and orientation of new associates
