RN - Step Down

Location: Golden, Colorado Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Night shift, 1900-0730, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours per week) Weekends: Yes On-Call: May be required to be on call during a regularly scheduled shift. Details to be discussed during the interview.

Unit Overview

• 32-bed unit
• Typically recruits progressive care or intermediate care nurses
• Manages drips and more acute patients

Responsibilities

• Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions per state Board of Nursing standards
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care
• Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
• Performs health teaching and counseling
• Provides supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others
• Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans
• Refers patients for further evaluation or treatment
• Documents per hospital and regulatory guidelines
• May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Minimum of 1 year of stepdown experience, completed within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
