Registered Nurse - NICU

Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
  • Provide health teaching, counseling, and supportive/restorative therapy and treatment directly or indirectly.
  • Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
  • Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
  • Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilize resources effectively.
  • May float to other departments within scope of competency.
  • May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Proficiency with Bubble CPAP, Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV), Draeger ventilators, High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV), and Nitric Oxide therapy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
