Overview

• ICU RN in Peru, Illinois
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• ICU has 8 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with possible assignment up to 3 patients depending on acuity and overflow
• Floating may include Medical Surgical in Peru and Ottawa

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Last four digits of SSN
• Clinician’s middle initial
• Requested time off
• Negative drug screen for all panels
• Experience with central line care, arterial lines, bedside brochoscopy, and cardiac arrest AHA guidelines

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine, and presadex

Unit Environment

• No nurse aides on the unit
• Hospitalists are in house 24/7, with nocturnist coverage and critical care physicians from 7am-7pm
• RT is in the ICU 24/7
• Vent, bipap, cpap, and heated hi flow are used
• No tele on this unit

Orientation

• 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation

Additional Notes

• Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles
• OSF call off policy allows the equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift
• 12 non-billable orientation hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• Solid color scrubs or OSF attire required, and dress code policy must be maintained
