Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kentucky
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

TAVR experience

Unit Details

4IC has 32 beds
Typical patient ratio is 1:4-6 depending on acuity
The unit generally cares for post catheterization patients
The unit manages sheaths and TR bands
The unit serves as overflow for 3E and may include patients with chest tubes
The unit also cares for medical patients requiring tele monitoring

Responsibilities

Titrate all drips except pressors, paralytics, and TPA
Place patients on and off CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow as needed, with respiratory support available in house
Float to the floors if needed

Schedule

Nights
12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Self-scheduling, subject to change to maintain a balanced schedule
Every other weekend
1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
2 summer holidays and 3 winter holidays

Additional Details

Charge nurse is present on each shift and usually takes an assignment
Care tech support is available at about 1:15
Galaxy Blue scrubs are required
No call or standby requirement
