ICU Resource Team - RN

Location

  • Fargo, North Dakota

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Day/night rotating shifts
  • 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, with occasional 4-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday
  • No call required
  • 12-hour straight weekend day position

Unit Details

  • 32-bed critical care resource team
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
  • May float to:
    • All critical care departments in Fargo, including 5AB, Intermediate ICU, and Broadway ICU
    • Med surg units as needed
  • May be assigned to different critical care unit locations each day
  • Employee will not work alone

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of ICU RN experience
  • Level 1 or 2 trauma experience in a 250+ bed facility
  • Experience titrating vasopressor drips
  • Ability to care for critically ill patients independently
  • ND or compact state RN license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS

  • None stated

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage 1-3 critically ill patients
  • Care for critically ill neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients
  • Manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips
  • Assist with bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, line placement, and other diagnostic tests

Orientation

  • 32 hours total orientation
  • Includes hospital orientation, unit orientation, Intermediate ICU orientation, and Broadway ICU orientation

Other Details

  • Epic charting
  • Must badge in and out
  • Navy blue scrubs
  • Cannot take travelers living within 60 miles of the facility
  • Local travel rate applies to those living 60 to 80 miles away
  • If previously worked for Sanford Health, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
