Registered Nurse — Emergency Department

Contract length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday

Required qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• TNCC certification
• ENPC or PALS certification
• Competent triage skills
• Competent de-escalation skills
• Able to read own telemetry strips
• Able to initiate respiratory equipment with verbal assistance from RT if needed
• At least 2 years of Critical Access ED experience preferred

Unit details

• Emergency department with 10 beds and 2 trauma bays
• Level IV trauma and stroke-ready designation
• Treats newborn through geriatric patients
• Common patient types include respiratory, cardiac, trauma, and stroke
• Average daily volume is 25–30 patients
• Separate triage room
• One locked seclusion room
• No fast track
• No charge nurse
• No in-house security
• RT is on site during the day and on call at night
• RN assists with CT transport for stroke activations
• Phlebotomy is shared between RNs and phlebotomy staff
• CNA/tech support is available from 1400–2230

• No floating
• No call or standby
• Professional appearance required
• Orientation continues until competency is achieved, up to 4 shifts
• Candidate must already have an account created/registered to run MN NetStudy before submission
• Additional requested time off must be approved upfront and will not be approved after submission
• Candidate must be within 50 miles
• Candidate may not have worked full time, part time, or PRN for any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
