ICU Travel Nurse - Indiana

Job Details

• Location: Franklin, Indiana (near Indianapolis, approx. 30-minute drive)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Self-scheduling with 6-week schedule posted in advance
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• Holiday Requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday during contract
• Call Requirement: Generally placed on call if needed; no regular call outside this
• Floating: May float to Med/Surg or ER (ER only if experienced)

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Combined CCU and PCU (12 beds total: 6 CCU, 6 PCU)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2 in CCU, 1:3-4 in PCU
• Nurse Aids: Available on unit
• Telemetry: Yes, with monitor techs; RNs read strips
• Respiratory Equipment: Ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, oximizer
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Sepsis, respiratory distress, overdose/ETOH withdrawal, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Charge Nurse: Present each shift; house supervisor nights and weekends
• Orientation: General facility orientation (1 day) plus 1-2 days unit-specific orientation

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Skills: Ability to titrate drips (e.g., Levophed, insulin, dopamine, heparin)

• Navy blue scrubs
