Overview

Travel contract for a Labor & Delivery/PP nurse in Glendale, California.
Contract length: 13 weeks.
Shift: 12-hour days.
Hours: 36 per week.

Unit Details

Unit: Labor and Deliver
10 L&D beds
2 ORs in L&D
2 triage beds
18 postpartum beds

Required Qualifications

2 full years of experience in L&D
Active BLS
ACLS
NRP
Adv-AWHONN
California RN license
C-section experience, including scrub, recovery, and circulate experience for L&D

Preferred Qualifications

Travel experience preferred

Clinical Setting

About 130 births per month
Ratios: 1:1 close to delivery, 1:2 otherwise, 1:4 couplets on postpartum
FHM system: Obix fetal monitoring
EMR: Cerner
Charge nurse shared between L&D and PP
Scrub techs on L&D; otherwise none
No call requirement
Weekend requirement: 4 shifts in a 4-week period
Holidays: 1 major, 1 minor
Scrub color provided
No tele
No vents
No IV team
RT 24/7
Pharmacy 24/7
12-hour shifts at 7a, 11a, and 7p
Floating: PP only if NICU background for feeder/grower; L&D to postpartum
Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts
Common patients include deliveries down to 23 weeks, some high-risk antepartum and HTN cases, with perinatology support
