Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Unit Information
- Unit: Emergency Department
- Beds: 20 headwall, 4 halls
- Staff: 50 total
- Shifts: Varying start times (7a, 9a, 11a, 12n, 1p, 3p, 7p)
- Shift Staffing:
- Day: 1 Charge RN, 4 RNs, 1 Tech, 1 Ultrasound tech
- Mid: Multiple RNs, Tech, Flow Coordinator
- Night: 1 Charge RN, 4 RNs, 1 Tech, 1 Ultrasound tech
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 (6:1 for low acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients)
- Equipment: Lucas device, Level 1 trauma system, Alaris IV pumps, i-STAT, EPOC, GE monitors
- EMR System: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Must have Alaska RN license at time of submission
- Specialty: Emergency Department RN
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Prior ED experience is required
- Stroke and STEMI experience preferred
- Trauma and Pediatrics experience are a plus
- Typical procedures include splinting and breathing treatments
Work Environment & Culture
