Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • 36-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night: 7:15 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • Rotation based on unit needs, not guaranteed
  • Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Experience Requirements

  • Labor and Delivery experience is required
  • Years of experience: Not explicitly stated, assume minimum 1+ year based on specialty requirement

Certifications and Licenses Required (Must be current and valid)

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license (Primary source verification required; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military certification accepted
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military certification accepted
  • MGB Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – AWHONN certified, 2-year renewal required

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date (no religious exemptions)
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
  • TB test (skin test or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation (if applicable)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred (3 doses or proof of immunity or declination)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred

Background and Compliance Checks

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
  • Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
  • National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Education verification of highest level achieved
  • References: 2 recent references required, at least 1 supervisor or above in skillset
