Travel RN Medical/Surgical Position

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Travel RN position in a medical/surgical specialty.
• Assignment located in Wichita, KS.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be AHA certified.
• Nursys Verification: Within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require FACIS Questionnaire.
• Current Nursing License: Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require FACIS Questionnaire.
• Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
• Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly; minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts.
• NIH Certification: Group A updated yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years.
• Ascension EKG Exam: Must pass with at least 80%, max 2 attempts; updated as new editions are released.
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training: Required.
• Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Required prior to start.

Onboarding & Training Requirements

• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation: Completion of pre-hire education modules (6 hours).
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite prior to assignment.
• Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules for non-allied positions.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
• Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start.
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
• Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray & Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within a year, and completed TB questionnaire. Annual updates required.
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required within 30 days prior to start.
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start; includes testing for 12 specified drugs; MRO review required for prescriptions or negative-dilute results.

Professional & Background Requirements

• Driver's License/State ID: Must be current and match address on file; specific rules for compact licenses.
• Ascension Profile (Resume): Required for submission.
• Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
• Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender; completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days.
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check: Run within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service >90 days.
• Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
• Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service >90 days.
• Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after breaks in service >90 days.
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with extensions.

Optional / Additional Requirements

• Ascension Unit Specific Checklist: Optional for onboarding; must be uploaded within a week by unit leader.
• Hiring Manager Evaluation: Post-assignment evaluation (optional).
• Ascension Name Change Document: Legal documentation of name change (optional).
