Job Description

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in high-level care (Level 4) with PEDS patients, specifically in RRT-NICU, PICU, and CVICU.
• Licensure: Must have an Ohio RRT license in hand.

Certifications Required

• NBRC Certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA/AAP only
• Tech Cert Verification - National (for CRT and RRT candidates)
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually)
• State License Verification (Ohio RRT License required)

Health Requirements

• Pre-employment Physical: Must include an assessment for capability to perform essential job functions.
• Fit Mask: Required within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: Required within 6 months of start, renewed annually.
• Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel + Nicotine drug screen required within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (10/31-3/31) or medical/religious exemption documentation.

Background and Compliance

• Criminal Background Check: Required prior to start, updated for breaks in service of 2 or more months.
• Fingerprinting: Required within 12 months of start, with specific instructions for candidates working with PEDS patients.
• References: Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required.

Additional Information

• Application Requirements: Must include 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting.
• Unit Specific Skills Checklist: Required and must be updated annually.
• Training Modules: Online training modules must be completed prior to start, typically taking 4-5 hours.

Scheduling and Availability

• All scheduling requests must be communicated during submission and interview.
• Candidates may float to other facilities as needed (e.g., Shaker Children's Rehab, Fairview NICU, Akron NICU, Hillcrest NICU).
