Hematology/Oncology RN

Job Overview

Travel/contract RN role in Columbus, Ohio
16-week assignment
Night shift, 3x12 hours
36 hours per week
Mixed acuity PCU and medical-surgical unit with oncology/BMT focus

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Oncology (1 year of experience)
Oncology experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ONS/ONCC
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Key Clinical Experience

Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Blood product administration
Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
Feeding tube care and management
Chemotherapy administration
Rapid response team use

Unit Details

Oncology/BMT unit caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, aplastic anemia, amyloidosis, and related disorders
Unit procedures include autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants, plus CAR-T therapy

Additional Notes

Rotating day/night scheduling may occur depending on department needs
Parking is available through campus permit options at additional cost

Pros

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.

Cons

Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
