Medical Surgical RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Wilmington, North Carolina
  • 13-week contract
  • Night shift: 3x12s, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift
  • Floating required to similar units and alternate inpatient holding or alternate medical patient care locations
  • Locals accepted at a local rate
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of Med Surg experience
  • Med Surg experience within the last year
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
  • Active BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Must be willing to obtain the ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration certification prior to or during the assignment
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPI
  • Charge nurse experience
  • OCN

Unit Details

  • Med Surg Oncology clinic caring for patients who have received chemotherapy
  • Primary patient population includes general medical-surgical diagnoses and chemotherapy/biotherapy administration
  • Target ratio: 1:6
  • Daily census: 42
  • Monthly staff meetings required
  • Onsite training provided
  • Orientation: 24 hours over 2 shifts
