Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Washington, District of Columbia.
• Start date: ASAP.
• Day or night shifts, 3x12 hours.
• 36 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• First-timers accepted.
• Locals accepted.
• Pending license accepted.
• On-call not required.
• Guaranteed hours: 48.
• No overtime until after 48 hours.
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend; blocked weekend scheduling is also open.
• RTO restriction: 7 days max; if 1 consecutive week is taken, one week must be added to the end of the contract to make up the time.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in District of Columbia.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Critical Care Float experience within the last year.
• 2 years of Critical Care Float experience.
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience.
• CVPICU experience.
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure.
• CHEMO.
• State license.
• NURSYS verification.
• Pass/fail testing for nursing.
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam.
• Competency exam.
• Color blind testing.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
• Employment application.
• Skills checklist.
• 2 professional references from the past 2 years.
• Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information.
• Fit test within 1 year of start, with annual updates.
• Tdap within 10 years.
• Negative TB screening or chest X-ray.
• TB questionnaire.
• MMR immunity documentation.
• Hepatitis B immunity documentation or declination process.
• Varicella immunity documentation.
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, including marijuana.
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
• COVID vaccine or declination for tracking.
• Background check and required verification screenings.
• Photo for badge.
• Emergency contact form.
• Cornerstone modules.
• Workramp modules.
• Medication study guide.
• Hep B declination if declining Hep B.
• Medical flu exemption if requesting a medical exemption.
• Religious flu exemption if requesting a religious exemption.

• Float scope: NICU, PICU, and CVPICU.
• Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2; if floating to NICU, ratio may be 1:3.
• Magnet, teaching, Level I trauma facility.
• Total staffed beds: 320.
• Charting system: Cerner.
• Scrub color: any, but must be child friendly and have no logos.
