Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 48 hours (can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week)
• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 3-5 patients
• Unit Specialty: Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Transplant, Medicine Unit; also handles standard medicine patients as overflow
• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Magnet & Teaching Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within service line
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (home address must be at least 75 miles from facility)
• Pending License: Accepted
• On-call: Not required
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes, minimum 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Compliance and Facility Requirements

• Orientation Modules: Required for all RNs; completed through online platform; approximately 16 hours
• Facility-specific documents to be completed prior to start:

  • HIPAA Acknowledgement
  • Latex Allergy Questionnaire
  • Confidentiality Form
  • Regulatory Compliance Education (annual quiz with minimum 80% score)
  • TB Questionnaire (annual)
  • Hand Hygiene Policy acknowledgment
  • Fingernail Policy acknowledgment
  • Dress Code Policy acknowledgment
• Badge Photo: Recent (within 6 months), head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions
• Vehicle Registration: Required for day shift workers
• Employment Application: Must be submitted and uploaded for facility review

Additional Notes

• Parking: Monthly parking passes available for travelers; parking fees vary by location; no charge for straight night shift parking in employee lots
• Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is expected
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Candidates must comply with facility policies and complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of Medical Surgical experience who are open to travel assignments and meet the outlined certification and compliance requirements.
