ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Oakland, California
Shift: Evening (4 shifts per week, 8 hours each, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel/contract assignment. The role involves working primarily in the ICU/CPU with potential floating to other units or campuses within the scope of practice. Flexibility with floating is expected, with typical notice given 1.5 hours before shift start. Shuttle service is provided for floating between campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- At least 6 months of total travel nursing experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Job Responsibilities
- Provide critical care nursing in ICU/CPU settings
- May float to other units or campuses as needed within scope of practice
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability to meet unit staffing needs
- Participate in on-call rotations as required
Additional Notes
- Employment application must include a full 7 years of work history with no gaps
- Two professional references required (within 3 years) for clinical travel candidates
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be renewed annually
- Candidate must review and sign multiple facility-specific agreements and policies prior to start
This position is ideal for ICU RNs with solid critical care experience and prior travel nursing exposure who are flexible and adaptable to floating and variable scheduling.
