Job Opportunity: Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
Unit & Work Environment
- Telemetry unit focusing on cardiac care including Post MI, Heart failure, Arrhythmias, Chest pain, Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Additional clinical skills: Peritoneal Dialysis, EKG, Doppler
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Unit size: 16 beds with average daily census of 16
- Electronic systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Weekends: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Call: None required
- Holiday work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within assignment period (up to 2 holidays)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Telemetry experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance with credentialing and onboarding required to start on time; delays may push start date by 2 weeks
- Clinical screening to determine fit before final manager approval
- Background check required within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Annual NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Required immunizations and health documents:
- TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months, plus annual TB questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters as needed
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies
Orientation & Scheduling Notes
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days; blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4-12)
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Locals accepted at same rate
References & History
- Two clinical references required by agency
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months required
- Verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
