Specialty Overview
- Adult and geriatric oncology med-surg/telemetry nursing
- Floating required to other MedSurg Oncology units
- Variable weekends based on unit needs
- No set or blocked scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Oncology experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel experience
Patient Population
- Adults
- Geriatrics
Common Diagnoses
- Breast cancer
- Lung cancer
- Prostate cancer
- Pancreatic cancer
- Colon cancer
- Esophageal cancer
- Encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy
Unit Notes
- Focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
- Cares for patients with true med-surg needs
- Goal staffing ratio is 1:4, may be 1:5

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
